For me, being an aspiring designer is exciting as there is a lot of opportunity in the world, as much as there is room for making change. My passion for design stems from a desire to make objects that are both beautiful and sustainable.

Lodoicia

Lodoicea is an object inspired by the organic curvature and undulating form of seeds that come from the Lodoicea palm, native to the Seychelles. This object is printed from recycled polymer and demonstrates the ability of beauty to be beheld in sustainable materials.

The body was manufactured by robotic 3D printer (UR10 Robot) using recycled PETG polymer filament, a plastic commonly used in retail, food and medical applications. The body is fastened to a pinewood base and encases the light base which was sourced and extracted from a second-hand lamp saved from landfill.
